Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation

• For youth in 8th grade and above:
  • Parent Meeting and Confirmation Kickoff (for both Confirmation students and their parents) Sunday, October 15: 6:30 pm at Corpus Christi Church (864 Main St)
  • Classes: 6:30-8pm at Corpus Christi Church (864 Main St): October 15, October 22, November 19, December 10, December 17, January 21, January 28, February 4, February 11, March 3, March 10
  • Confirmation Retreat: March 23, 2024, 10am-4pm
  • Special Sessions for the Whole Family
    • October 1, 2023: 11:45am at Saint Michael Church (859 N Clinton Ave): Patronal Feast of Saint Michael Celebration and GIFT kickoff. Bilingual Mass, meal and session for the whole family
    • December 2: 10am-2pm at Corpus Christi Church (864 Main St): Advent Retreat for the whole family
    • February 24, 2024: 10am-2pm at Corpus Christi Church: Lenten Retreat for the whole family
    • March 16: 10am at Corpus Christi Church (864 Main St): Penance Service for the whole family with child care available for young children
    • May 18: 4:30pm at Corpus Christi Church (864 Main St): Bilingual Pentecost Mass, food from around the world meal and session for the whole family

In Baptism, people are incorporated into Christ and become part of God’s people. This first Sacrament makes us a “new creation through water and the Holy Spirit” (Cf. Christian Initiation, Introduction, no. 2). By the signing at Confirmation they are strengthened in the image of the Lord and are sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit. Confirmation brings to fullness the life in the Holy Spirit into which God’s sons and daughters were first initiated at Baptism.

For young people, Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation will be accomplished through our faith formation program. Preparation for Confirmation is a two year process beginning in eighth grade. To accommodate all the topics required by the Diocese, teens in both Confirmation Year One and Confirmation Year Two will be expected to attend faith formation along with several other sessions.
